About Us

We launched Uncommon Distillery in 2024 with a desire to build a premium spirits brand that had a true sence of time and place. We wanted to it to be the very epitome of a local brand, focussing on producing world-class spirits targeted at the local area. We won't be seen in the supermarkets, or the chain bottle shops instead focussing on selling direct and to a hand-picked selection of premium wine and spirits merchants.

Ever since launch we wanted to have an urban representation of what we do as the distillery is based in an industrial building on a working farm. And so in late 2025 our search began for a small retail unit with somewhere in Cirencester a target.

Cirencester is an great market town in the heart of the Cotswolds, with an amazing community spirit and high tourism. It's also our home town so when a shop in the centre of town came up, we snapped up the chance.

Launched at the start of 2026, The Cirencester Distilling Company is tasting room and gin school experience. Here you'll be able to sample the Uncommon range, get a gin made to your recipe, or imerse yourself in a full gin making experence. Hope to see you there, Ben
